Though I don’t have to live or be bogged down by schedules I woke an hour later then usual yesterday which set me all off track as I had planned many errands. It’s a good thing my chiropractor likes me as she let me slip into her office an hour later then when I was due! Isn’t health insurance just wonderful? Even if you have it there is no guarantee they will pay your medical bills. It’s the insurance company that ultimately decides if you need a service and need to be treated. Three years ago my physical therapist insisted I needed more therapy for my foot that had been operated on and in a cast for nearly 6 months. I had lost all function and my leg muscles had been contracted. I ended up going bck to work with a foot that wasn’t completely functioning and in pain because I couldn’t afford the needed therapy.
Bah spouse woke. I have to finish packing! We leave this morning for a week at a cabin at Long Pond in the Adirondacks. I just checked the extended forecast and it’s not too promising unless you like rain and thunder storms! I know I’ve been lax in posting but I promise to come back in full swing. I need this week in one of natures sanctuaries!
ohhhhhhhhh Happy Fourth of July! I will be back on the 5th!
Peace!

Gas prices keep escalating, food prices are increasing every day with the high price of gasoline and the damage done by the severe weather we have been experiencing and our wages keep eroding. There seems to be no end in sight. I was checking the Jeff Farias web site and found some useful tips for pumping gas that may save you a few pennies. If your interested here’s the LINK
My solution to the gas problem is to drive as little as possible. Everything we plan is linked with something else so that no trip is wasted. Spouse now uses my car for work as it is much better on gas mileage. His van is only used for camping now. We have always been in the habit of making shopping lists and we do it one day a week. I try to plan my menus for the week so I don’t have any unnecessary store runs to make. All the stores we need are within a 3-4 mile radius. With just the two of us it’s not too bad, I can’t imagine trying to raise a family today.
Peace!

While I watched the acrobatic antics of several squirrels in their mating rituals early this morning I could not help but think of the disasters nature is ravishing upon the world at large right now. Ironically nothing is wasted in nature, not even death which helps to sprout new life. Man on the other hand, ravishes the land and destroys man and his spirit. Nature renews itself by reclaiming it’s own. Too often, man leaves man on his own to fend for himself and waste away to nothingness.
When you view the news today and watch the flooding and tornado destruction in the midwest, ask yourself what will kill the people’s spirits, nature or other man’s response afterwards to the disasters?
Remember Katrina? The disaster continues today though you hear little about it due to man’s failure in the form of our present administration and the news media.
After The Fury
Sun bright
beacon light
such blight
not right.
Trees tumbled
homes crumbled
words jumbled
men humbled.
Winds whispering
heart pounding
time stalling
tears falling.
Doll torn
heart shorn
all forlorn
mother mourns.
Wet sand
man stands
shaking hand
ravaged land.
Eyes blurry
mind weary
such worry.
natures fury.

This has been a great historical year for all of us here in the United States of America. We have witnessed and experienced personally the first woman and the first African American to complete an election primary for President of the USA! Our children and our grandchildren will all profit by the fact that they have now seen that it is possible for ANYONE despite our differences to run and be elected for the highest office in the land! They can picture any goal for themselves! Both candidates offered our children hope and the opportunity of a good education to fulfill their dreams.
Senator Clinton and Senator Obama have worked hard, each with their own walls to break down that society had erected to block them. Being a woman, close to Hillaary’s age, I know all too well and have experienced personally, the oppression and walls that had to be broken for her to have gotten to where she is today. Hillary lost the nomination but she is still a winner and so are we as women, because she had the audacity and strength to do what no other women has ever been able to accomplish before! Obama, had his own walls to shatter and the election ran close. We should be proud that both candidates were given this great opportunity. Though Barak Obama won the nomination we are ALL WINNERS!
As for the candidates, it’s been a long hard road for all of us as well. Both Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama supporters worked their hearts out trying to get out the votes for their candidate of choice. Other then their physical differences, Clinton and Obama were/are pretty much on the same page with the issues that are most important to all of us, health care, ending the war in Iraq, affordable and good education, the economy. civil rights and protecting and upholding the CONSTITUTION of the United States of America. The media, the Republicans, the neocons and others have worked hard to divide us and they will continue to try to bring dissension between Clinton and Obama supporters. Those that oppose us even now are still trying to put a wedge between us. Some are saying Hillary got a raw deal, the media wasn’t fair to her, that Obama supporters are nasty and they are encouraging Clinton supporters to vote for McCain who for all intents and purposes wants to carry on the policies of the last eight years. Policies that have sent our economy plumeting to all time lows, sent our jobs over seas with the blessings of the government, policies that have taken away civil rights and tried to re-write our constitution and policies to continue an illegal war that has killed thousands of innocent CHILDREN and adults as well as over 4,100 American men and women! Those that wish to keep us divided want support for McCain who thinks a war with Iran and the killing of more innocent people and our troops will bring us better security! Ya right, just like the illegal war in Iraq!
There are those that disguise themselves as Clinton and Obama supproters who continue to try to bring divisive ideas and thoughts with hateful words and actions to us in order to CONTROL our minds and steer us down a path of destruction! We need to get a grip and elect a Democratic government NOW this year or we may forever be doomed. A vote for John Bush McCain is a vote against all that Hillary Clinton stands for and has worked hard for her entire life. A vote for John McBush is a vote against all women’s rights! A vote for John Bush McCain is a vote for male dominance and control of our lives as women! John Bush McCain doesn’t show respect for his own wife in public, how will he ever respect us as women and as Americans?
We have to put a stop to this and work together to protect what we so dearly believe in, a governemt of the people and for the people! Both Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama are winners and heroes to all of us! Now it’s time for US to carry their legacy and what they both stand for and support the nominee, Barak Obama and the Democratic Party to insure that the door is kept open for all of us and freedom to be what we choose! It’s time we stood up and fought together to put a stop to those that work to divide and conqueor us. It’s time to shout……………NOT THIS TIME!
Peace!

My spirits are high and I can’t help but feel great to be alive during this monumental historical time. Not only do we have the first African American presidential nominee, we have a nominee that has wisdom, integrity, good judgement, common sense, empathy, and one that really represents the people and all this great country stands for, qualities that have been lacking in our leadership for years. That he is a black man is trivial compared to WHO he is!
Thank you Barak Obama for waking the people up! People from all walks of life are rising and uniting to take our country back and giving us a purpose beyond ourselves. No longer will the people accept without question what the old school establishment wants them to accept. The barriers of division are crumbling and fear will be buired.
Barak Obama will be our next president! We can’t afford NOT to elect him! Our children’s future, our country’s future depends on what happens in November. Bush and his cronies have drained our lives dry, shattered our reputation in the world and have killed over 4000 of our men and woman as well as thousands of innocent people in an illegal war.
We cannot afford McCain who will only continue the wholesale slaughter of the American people’s lives! No longer will the people continue to be divided and cower in fear! Our numbers are rising and our unity strengthens. Ordinary people have found a voice and we will be heard!
Peace!

Music lives on in our souls, it thrives on an everlasting wave of energy all it’s own. There are those that grasp the wave and ride it through eternity reaching out to touch each and everyone.
